Fishing on the Boone Fork River is a one of the most pristeen rivers in NC. Boone Fork is the only stream in the entire Watauga River Basin that is classified as “Outstanding Resource Waters.” The NC Division of Water Quality classified the water quality of the Creek as “excellent.” The Creek also supports exemplary natural communities and a number of rare plant and animal species.
